LE&RN Announces Historic Partnership with FDRS to Fund Lipedema Fellowships

Funding postdoctoral research fellowships to find breakthroughs in lymphatic disease and lymphedema have been signature programs of the Lymphatic Education & Research Network. However, to date, that research has not specifically targeted lipedema, which affects millions of American women.

This is about to change thanks to an historic partnership between LE&RN and the Fat Disorder Research Society (FDRS) whose mission is to improve the quality of life for all people affected by adipose tissue disorders. With aligned missions, our two organizations are collaborating to fund research to break new ground. The LE&RN/FDRS Lipedema Postdoctoral Fellowship Award Program has been established to stimulate lipedema research and its association with lymphatic dysfunction.

We will be telling you much more about this in the months to come, and researchers can look forward to a request for proposals in the near future. For now, I just wanted to share this wonderful news, especially for the millions of women who suffer from lipedema and seek answers, treatments and cures.

Without your support, LE&RN would not be here to help make these fellowships a reality. Every membership counts. Every supporter shares in this milestone accomplishment. Join us. Together we are making a difference.
