“Lights of Hope” – National Awareness Campaign for World Lymphedema Day
The “Lights of Hope” is an annual national initiative organized by the Bulgarian Lymphedema Association to mark World Lymphedema Day on March 6th. As part of the campaign, iconic buildings, cultural centers, and monuments across various Bulgarian municipalities are illuminated in blue or project the campaign’s logo.
This powerful visual transformation serves a dual purpose: it brings a highly underrepresented and often stigmatized condition out of the shadows, and it stands as a beacon of solidarity for thousands of patients. “Lights of Hope” sends a clear message to patients that they are not invisible, while simultaneously calling upon healthcare institutions to prioritize systemic, modern lymphedema care.
