Kathy Bates and William Repicci speak out for lymphedema and lymphatic disease on Broadway

"Many celebrities have lent their names in support of a disease or medical cause. However, relatively few come to mind of those who are known as much for their humanitarian work as for their art: Michael J. Fox and Parkinson’s disease, Marlo Thomas and children’s illnesses, Elizabeth Taylor and AIDS. And now, Kathy Bates as LE&RN’s Spokesperson fighting LE and LD."

This was how William ("Bill") Repicci, LE&RN President & CEO, introduced LE&RN Spokesperson Kathy Bates when she was lauded by the theater community at The 24 Hour Plays on Broadway on November 18, 2019, as the event's honoree.

The video above includes Bill's moving introductory remarks, a video round-up of Kathy's amazing contributions to the cause over the years, and Kathy's own speech which produced a standing ovation and quite a few tears.

Please help us to continue to well-deserved honor by watching and sharing this video far and wide. Kathy's message moved the theater community in New York. We cannot let it stop there.
