4th annual California Run/Walk to Fight Lymphedema & Lymphatic Diseases draws celebrities and passionate activists
The annual California #LymphWalk in Santa Monica is always a special and unique event. This year, the top fundraiser dinner, sponsored by JOBST and hosted by LE&RN Spokesperson Kathy Bates, was attended by a number of Hollywood icons, making for a star-studded evening for all.
The Run/Walk on June 24 saw enthusiastic runners and walkers, and recognized two individuals who have made extraordinary impacts on the LE and LD communities.
Arun Rekha (pictured at right at the June 23 reception) has traveled throughout India, making a difference in the lives of people who often struggle to obtain access to care.
Dennis Schlaht (pictured at left with LE&RN President and CEO William Repicci), of ImpediMed/L-Dex, was an early corporate supporter of LE&RN and has regularly attended LE&RN events. His presence has left a lasting impression on Run/Walk participants who so often have felt isolated as they struggle with these diseases.
Colorado Chapter Chair and past CA Run/Walk participant and Inspiration Award winner Marie Apodaca wrote this moving piece about Dennis just ahead of this year's CA Run/Walk.
