The petition to recognize World Lymphedema Day has attracted a lot of support -- nearly 3,000 signatures and counting. Much of that has come from LE&RN members and supporters, sharing the video and petition via email and social media. Please continue to spread the word.

Rare Disease Day

New York State will recognize Rare Disease Day on Wednesday, March 2, in Albany at the State House. LE&RN's NY Chapter co-chair, Jennifer Looby, and chapter member Tiffany Detlefsen will be in attendance, along with McKenna Shea Johnson Youth Ambassador, Connor Looby, and LE&RN's 2015 Youth Ambassador, Emma Detlefsen.

LE&RN Youth AmbassadorNew York State Assembly and Senate to recognize World Lymphedema Day™ and to honor LE&RN Youth Ambassador Nicholas Hernandez

On March 1, the New York State Assembly and Senate will sponsor Resolutions to honor the first World Lymphedema Day™ to take place on March 6. These Resolutions are sponsored by Assemblymember Linda B. Rosenthal and Senator Martin J. Golden. A second Resolution will honor LE&RN Youth Ambassador, 5-year-old Nicholas Hernandez (shown here at the 2015 New York Walk to Fight Lymphedema & Lymphatic Diseases), for his outstanding contributions in advocacy and lymphatic research fundraising.
