World Lymphedema Day gains momentum in 2017

In 2016, LE&RN circulated a petition to establish March 6 as World Lymphedema Day. Thousands responded and the U.S. Senate heard our voices with the unanimous passage of S.Res 389, sponsored by U.S. Senator Charles Schumer and co-sponsored by Senator Chuck Grassley. For 2017, we took a more global perspective and asked the World Health Organization (WHO) to designate "Lymphedema: Awareness & Cures" as its 2018 World Health Day campaign. Thousands are now backing this effort and support grows daily. (To promote this initiative, sign the petition and share widely, via email and social media.) Our efforts received front-page coverage on AOL's Lifestyle channel on March 6.

For World Lymphedema Day 2017, we asked LE&RN Chapters to get involved. And, with that call, there was no stopping this grassroots movement. Here is a recap of World Lymphedema Day 2017:
