Lauren is a lymphedema advocate and patient, first diagnosed with primary lymphedema (right leg) in Australia at 2 months old. Although some symptoms of LE were present at a young age, many symptoms weren’t present throughout childhood. This led many doctors to not believe the diagnosis until young adulthood, when symptoms became prominent. At that time, the LE hadn’t been managed and it became very difficult to gain the medical support and knowledge needed to slow the onset of troubling LE. Today, Lauren has learned to manage the LE and strives to create awareness. Her passion to advocate for those with lymphedema and lymphatic diseases comes from a place of understanding and determination.
