Dr. Constantino Eretta
Chair, Mediterranean Chapter
Costantino Eretta, MD, PhD, is an Italian surgeon specializing in lymphatic surgery, microsurgery, and the multidisciplinary treatment of lymphedema. He currently serves in the General Surgery Department and Lymphatic Surgery Unit at San Bartolomeo Hospital in Sarzana, Italy, where he has held a leadership role in the evaluation and surgical management of lymphatic disorders.
Dr. Eretta has extensive experience in lymphatic microsurgery and has contributed to decades of clinical work and research focused on chronic peripheral lymphedema. Earlier in his career, he was affiliated with the Unit of Lymphatic Surgery and Microsurgery at San Martino Hospital, University of Genoa, a program that reported treating more than 1,500 patients with microsurgical techniques for lymphedema. His scholarly work has addressed microsurgical treatment of lymphedema, recurrent lymphedema, lymphatic surgery, diagnostic evaluation, and comprehensive decongestive therapy.
As Chair of the LE&RN Mediterranean Chapter, Dr. Eretta brings his clinical expertise, research experience, and longstanding commitment to advancing the understanding and treatment of lymphatic diseases. In this role, he will help foster education, awareness, collaboration, and community engagement throughout the Mediterranean region while supporting LE&RN’s mission to advance lymphatic research and improve the lives of people living with lymphatic diseases.
