James Fanning
Chapter Chair
James Fanning is a current medical student at the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine and a past research fellow at Harvard Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Plastic Surgery. He served as the 2023 and 2024 JOBST Lymphatic Research Fellow at the Boston Lymphatic Center where he studied variations of upper extremity lymphatic anatomy and their role in the development and risk of breast cancer-related lymphedema. He has authored or co-authored over 45 peer-reviewed publications and plans to pursue residency training in plastic and reconstructive surgery. James is passionate about lymphatic research, clinical innovation, and patient advocacy. He is motivated to help expand patient access to lymphatic education, surveillance, and treatment across rural Northern New England.
