About Giuseppe Visconti, MD, PhD
Dr. Giuseppe Visconti is a plastic surgeon based in Italy. He founded the Lymphedema Surgery Program at University Hospital Agostino Gemelli in Rome, one of the highest-volume centers for lymphedema surgery in Europe and the first user of ultra-high-frequency ultrasound in Europe for lymphatic surgery. Dr. Visconti pioneered its use for perforator flaps. Dr. Visconti was granted a research project on lymphedema surgery in 2017 by the Italian Ministry of Health, has produced more than 25 publications dedicated to lymphedema surgery in international peer-reviewed journals, has written three chapters on lymphedema surgery for international books, and is co-editor of the first book entirely dedicated to super-microsurgical LVA, published in 2020. He was appointed visiting professor at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Victor Babes in Timisoara, Romania in 2019. He is co-founder of the Ultrasound in Reconstructive Microsurgery Yearly Meeting, created in 2019. He is regularly invited to national and international meetings for lymphedema surgery and was appointed as faculty for the Boston Lymphatic Symposium in 2021.
