My story started about 12 years ago when I had to have major surgery for my celiac artery. It was 85% blocked. Anyway, after I woke up from the surgery my legs and arms where so huge I couldn't even get out of bed and, of course, the surgeon said that it was impossible for the surgery to have caused it. So I made an appointment with a physician who specializes in lymphedema. He did a test and told me that indications were that the surgery had caused my lymphedema. What happened is that the surgeon had nicked my main lymphatic trunk. We were then off to the races. So I have been living with it since and will be the rest of my life.
