With a dual education in both medicine and science, Epameinondas has focused on basic research on lymphedema pathophysiology. His aim has been to unravel the background of the disease and develop novel therapeutic applications with clinical translation. Epameinondas` clinical interest lies on plastic and reconstructive surgery.

Beside his academic affiliations he has been a Shaper of the World Economic Forum Global Shapers Community, having served as Curator for the Zurich Hub and host of the Pre-Davos Summits (2015 & 2016) in Zurich.
