Dr. Budge is an infectious diseases physician and researcher at Washington University in St. Louis. His primary research interest is the elimination of lymphatic filariasis (LF) and other parasitic neglected tropical diseases. He completed MD, PhD, internal medicine and infectious diseases training at Vanderbilt University. He developed his interest in filarial infections while an Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) Officer at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). He is currently an assistant professor of medicine and infectious diseases at Washington University in St. Louis, where his laboratory conducts translational and clinical research aimed at supporting the two pillars of the Global Programme to Eliminate LF: stopping LF transmission, and reducing suffering among those already infected.
