Michelle Hsia is a Clinical Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy at the USC Chan Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy. She graduated with her Masters in 2018 and her Clinical Doctorate in 2019 in Occupational Therapy. She spent her first 6 years in practice, specializing in lymphedema and oncology care in both inpatient acute and outpatient. More recently, she has been working with Dr. Ketan Patel in his comprehensive lymphedema clinic providing pre surgery consults, preparing for lymphedema surgeries through rehabilitative protocols, and post-operative care. Also, Michelle works on a Multidisciplinary Breast Care Team at USC Norris Cancer Hospital, with the medical oncologists, surgical oncologists, radiation oncologist, imaging, social work, genetics, social work and physical therapists. During these consults, Michelle and her colleagues have been focusing on lymphedema risk reduction, self-care and routines, symptom management, wellness and coping. Her passion is to focus on patients as a whole, throughout the continuum of their oncology care and survivorship and serve as a resource for any concerns patients have.
