U.S. Senate declares March 6 World Lymphedema Day

On March 3, 2016, the United States Senate unanimously passed S.Res 389, declaring March 6, 2016, the first annual World Lymphedema Day. Ths Resolution was sponsored by U.S. Senator Charles Schumer. Senator Chuck Grassley co-sponsored. Watch the historic moment on C-Span.

UPDATE: Following the declaration of World Lymphedema Day, Senator Schumer requested $70 million be appropriated to the Office of the Director of the NIH for lymphatic research. Sign the petition for #LymphaticFunding, directed at the U.S. Senate and the members of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health, and Human Services, and demand that these vital research dollars be allocated for lymphatic research. We can ensure a better future for lymphedema and lymphatic disesase sufferers.
