Congratulations to 2020 GRC Travel Award winners, Poster winners, and Leadership Award winners

LE&RN Travel Award winners and Poster Award winners honored

LE&RN President & CEO William Repicci (pictured above at the far right with LE&RN Travel Award winners) presented at the Gordon Research Conference, co-sponsored by LE&RN, in early March 2020. Phyllis Fried, LE&RN Research and Program Director, is pictured at the far left. Ten young lymphatic researchers, pictured above, received LE&RN scholarships to enable their attendance and four were recognized with poster awards of between $500 and $1,000 thanks to generous funding by Pure Tech. Our thanks to a grant from Juzo that funded a general session where patients presented their stories directly to the attendees.

This year's Travel Award winners were Matthew Cribb, Rafael Czepielewski, Magda Hernandez, Sawan Jha, Christina Karapouliou, Natalie Nielsen, Anna Oszmiana, Ljuba Ponomarev, Simon Stritt, and Wenjing Xu.

Poster Award winners were Yang Lee, Xiaolei Liu, and Maria Ulvma. The top Poster Award winner was Rafael Czepielewski.

This year's Lifetime Leadership Award went to Professor Michael Detmar, M.D., ETH Zurich, Switzerland. Career Achievement Awards were given to Tatiana Petrova, Ph.D. (Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research Lausanne, Switzerland), and Taija Makinen, Ph.D., (Uppsala University, Sweden).
