The American Medical Association (AMA) hears from the lymphatic disease community

Two years ago, Dr. Stanley G. Rockson (Stanford University Endowed Chair in Lymphatic Medicine) drafted an article for the Journal of American Medicine (JAMA) to highlight the issues faced by the lymphatic disease community.

The article, "Lymphatic Medicine: Paradoxically and Unnecessarily Ignored" was rejected within an hour of receipt, with JAMA stating that the tone was inappropriate for their audience. We then published the article in our journal, Lymphatic Research & Biology.

Following this, we asked members of the lymphatic disease community to send their personal stories, describing their experiences with diagnosis and treatment, to AMA CEO & Executive Vice President, Dr. James Madara via email at james.madara@ama-assn.org, copying LE&RN. These stories have now been published on our website and are listed below. Take the time to read them and then write your own email to Dr. Madara, cc'ing LE&RN. We will continue to post the stories we receive.
