LE&RN Discount Link A Deeper Dive Part One: The Emotional Impact of Lipedema: Navigating a Challenging Pathway Presenters: Catherine Seo, PhD, Veronica Rodriguez, DPT, CLT-LANA ● deep dive into the emotional landscape ● learning to identify feelings and emotional states ● learning to recognize the impact on behavior ● learning to let go ● issues/loss of mobility and independence ● sympathetic, parasympathetic ANS, polyvagal ● learning to let go of the emotions impacting self-esteem, image, identity DESCRIPTION Our understanding of lipedema has revolutionized over the last decade through research and clinical experience, but most especially by the awakening of women themselves to the realities of lipedema and related lymphatic/fat disorders. The emotional impact of living with a chronic and visibly disfiguring disorder can seem unsurmountable. During this symposium, we introduce simple tools for understanding the complexities we live with including media’s impact on women’s body image & identity, emotional mapping, self-regulation, empathy, the integration of body/mind/spirit, and the power of social connection in community. We invite you to explore self-compassion, self-acceptance, self-loving, and connection in the presence of the challenges that these diseases bring. September 1 presentation is Part One of a Deeper Dive into the generally unspoken pain that most of us with lymphatic diseases experience on a daily basis. On October 6th we will present Part Two of a Deeper Dive into the power of social connection in creating a healing environment that can offer tools for living powerfully every day. You can embrace living your best life with lipedema and lymphedema.
