About the speaker: Margareta Haag was the Executive Director of the International Association of Medical Laboratory Technologists (today, the International Federation of Biomedical Laboratory Science) until 2002, when she was diagnosed for the fourth time with lymphoma, a chronic condition. Margareta Haag founded the Swedish Association of Chronic Oedema in 1999 and was President from 2010-2024. She became the President of the Swedish Network Against Cancer (NMC) in 2018 and holds this position today. The Network Against Cancer comprises national cancer patient and interest organizations in Sweden. Margareta is a member of the Swedish Cancer Fund Expert Group, which investigates the implementation of the EU Beating Cancer Plan and the Patient Councils at GPCC (Gothenburg Center for Person-Centered Care), the Swedish Agency for Health and Care Services. Dr. Mikaela Friedman is the External Relations Officer at Genomic Medicine Sweden (GMS), where she has played a key role since its inception in 2018. She has contributed to the development of national infrastructure for integrating precision medicine into healthcare. Dr. Friedman is responsible for GMS's collaboration with patient advocacy groups, educational initiatives, and international partnerships. She holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biotechnology from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm.
