Effective CDT – The Inconvenient Truth

About the speaker: Guenter Klose received his initial Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) and Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) training in 1984 at the Foeldi Clinic in Hinterzarten, Germany. Guenter became certified by the German Massage and Physical Therapy Association in 1987 as an instructor for MLD/CDT, specializing in the treatment of lymphedema. He continued working as an instructor at the Foeldi Schools in Freiburg and Munich, Germany. In 1990, Guenter came to New York City to assist Dr. Robert Lerner in establishing the first CDT treatment center for patients with lymphedema in the United States. Guenter’s work was instrumental in establishing the field of lymphedema therapy and therapist training in the U.S. He assisted in opening numerous lymphedema treatment centers on the East Coast and has facilitated the training of hundreds of lymphedema therapists throughout the U.S. In 2003, Guenter established his own lymphedema training and consulting company, Klose Training & Consulting, LLC, an organization dedicated to providing the highest-quality lymphedema therapy training available. Guenter has lectured extensively in the United States and abroad. He has presented at the National Lymphedema Network Conferences, lectured at numerous physicians' meetings, and lymphedema support groups across the country. Guenter is the Program Director for the Klose Training Lymphedema Conference and a founding member of the Lymphology Association of North America (LANA) for which he served on the Board of Directors from 1999–2004.
