Wound Care and Lymphedema Treatment:
Synergies, Pitfalls and Pearls for Success

Description: What does wound care and lymphedema treatment have to do with each other? Everything! Wound care specialists treating venous leg ulcers need to know how to manage secondary phlebolymphedema, in order to facilitate wound healing and avoid recurrent infections. Lymphedema therapists need practical tools for managing copious lymphorrhea that leads to skin breakdown, intertriginous dermatitis, and chronic wounds. This symposium will look at patient scenarios that require both wound care and lymphedema treatment, and present practical tips and solutions to optimize their care.
